Camping Chantalouette is a two star rated, basic campsite close to the centre of Praz-sur-Arly in the heart of the Haute Savoie. It’s short walk from shops, restaurants, and the tourist information office. It has a central facilities building with free showers, toilets and a small laundrette all of which are somewhat dated, but are clean and really well maintained. It is just a few minutes drive; free ski bus ride; or 10 minutes walk to the lifts which provide access to Espace Diamant ski area which stretches all across the valleys to Les Saisies and offers 190kms of piste.
How to get to Camping Chantalouette
Praz-sur-Arly is a straightforward drive from Calais either by Autoroute via Reims or Paris at 550 miles, or by non toll roads via Luxembourg and the A31/E23 at 620 miles.
If using the autoroute leave the A40/E25 at junction 20 taking the D1205 to Sallanches, then the D1212 via Megeve to Praz-sur-Arly. Stay on the D1212 through the town centre until the campsite appears on the right opposite an Intersport Shop.

Espace Diamant – What is the skiing like in Praz-sur-Arly?
Praz-sur-Arly is part of the Val d’Arly region and joins Notre Dame de Bellecombe, Flumet, Les Saisies, Hautleuce, and Crest Voland areas to make up the Espace Diamant. On a local ski pass you can access 120kms of piste which expands to 190kms for the full area. There is a good range of pistes suiting all abilities and some well regarded local ski schools. Lift infrastructure is dated with no gondolas at present. 5kms to the north is the luxury ski resort of Megève with a further 300kms of piste on offer, as it links to the Evasion Mont Blanc ski area (separate ski pass).
Winterised Tips:
- For fresh bread and mouthwatering pastries don’t miss Boulangerie Le Montagnard directly opposite the site.
- For ski service, try Sarl Joly Pottuz Sports opposite the tourist office, great service at a keen price
- For a classic Savoyard meal, try La Bergeri just past the tourist office
- For non skiers and boarders who don’t mind a short stroll to the lifts, cross the road from the campsite & follow the footpath through the woods to the left of Restaurant le Parlin which brings you out at the car park by the lifts
